Chapter 7: The John (Jack) Poston Family

John (Jack)4 Poston (John3, John2, John1) was born in Marion District, South Carolina, in 1784 or 1785. He died of dropsy in May 1850, at the age of 65 (1850 Mortality Schedule, South Carolina State Archives Department). The name of his wife is not known by the writer. Census records show that he had three sons and four daughters. Nothing is known of three of the daughters. Known Children: •Alfred Poston, b. about 1818 •James Rayford Poston, b. about 1820 •John Thomas Poston, b. 20 November 1830 •Cecelia Poston (probably married a Farnam from Quincy, Florida)
