James4 Poston (John3, John2, John1) was born in Marion District, South Carolina about 1794. He died in 1862. His will was drawn 31 July 1862 and probated 1 January 1863 (Roll 1818, Marion County Wills). We do not know the name of his wife but the following list of his children was copied from a Bible in the possession of Earl Hyman of Pamplico, S.C.: Children: •John L.
