Correcting the older tradition
A central correction in the revised family history is that the early South Carolina brothers were John and Anthony, with Anthony remembered in family speech as “Antney,” rather than John and Andrew.
South Carolina household
The genealogy describes Anthony and Elizabeth in the 1820 South Carolina census as an older couple living with Hugh and his wife. By 1830 they no longer appear in the reconstructed household chronology.
Branch significance
Anthony’s branch leads to Hugh Poston (1791–1846) and then to Andrew Poston (1829–1916), the namesake-linked figure in the railroad-era history of Poston, South Carolina.

The linked Archive records are documentary or compiled research aids. Where an Archive page labels an item as a research guide rather than primary proof, this page preserves that distinction.
